Hi Mike,

 

Follow your guide,I have installed hylafax+ 5 2.5 using rpm. I can send/receive fax properly except for PCL file.

 

I use winprint for sending fax from windows box client. The sending job fails with the error : PCL documents are not (currently) supported.

 

The same message with pcl2fax command.

 

With previous hylafax installation, I can fax pcl document by printing to winprint printer.

 

Your help is really appreciated.

Bao,

I only mentioned the Avantfax forums because I found good help there.   I still check them to stay on top of Avantfax news.  We have been in production with AvantFax 3.1 and Hylafax+ for about 4 months.   Efficiencies in our office have been improved greatly.  AvantFax is the best open source web based fax client I have seen and we have been very pleased.   You will like it a lot.

Thank you for your quick replies. I have tried hylafax 4.4.4 with rpm and manually compilation, but none seems to work properly.

 

The CentOS avantfax forum has less to do with my case.

I am running Hylafax+ ( version 5.1) and Avantfax 3.1 on SLES10-SP1.  Hylafax+ was highly recommended and I have had no troubles since going into production.

I have installed Centos, and compiled Hylafax 4.4.4, then installed avantfax 3.0.7. All works fine except 2 things:

 

1.       Can not send outgoing fax. Hylafax can connect to other fax server, but for some reasons, it failt at [5:ATH0\r] with the error message [10:NO CARRIER] (see below)

2.       Avantfax can not update ttyS0 status. The status is always [Please wait], although command faxstat states the modem is idle.

 

Any support is highly recommended.
