Re: [hylafax-users] Missing EOL after 5 seconds (section 3.2/T.4)
hi lee!
i recently installed hylafax+ 5.2.2 and changed config to class 1. this
runs only partially perfect. sometimes i got faxgetty hang. it blocks
the phone line so no more fax can get in until i reset it. i even cannot
this
May 15 16:52:38 area52 FaxGetty[30298]: --> [4:RING]
this normally happens 3 times (= 3 phonerings) and then i got this
May 15 16:52:47 area52 FaxGetty[30298]: ANSWER: FAX CONNECTION DEVICE
'/dev/ttyS0'
perhaps the getty args in /var/spool/fax/etc/config.ttyS0 are needen:
GettyArgs: "-r -b -a -s %s %l"
is there a way i can get through this?? i cannot reproduce the fagetty
hang so i dont know what to do...
thx in advance

hi all!
i use hylafax 4.3.0 on a gentoo box with a MODEM U.S. ROBOTICS 56K
FAX connected to ttyS0 for a while. recently i encountered this
message while receiving faxes:
Missing EOL after 5 seconds (section 3.2/T.4)
5s is the time in very old versions of T.4. It should be 13s, 19s, or
37s these days, depending on the resolution.
In this case I suspect that the error message is misleading.
HylaFAX isn't ever enforcing a 5-second timeout between EOLs. The modem
may be, but in this case it wasn't. In this case it was just the error
message that happened to be assigned to this kind of situation... where
the modem stopped communicating back with the host in Phase C.
HylaFAX only uses this error message in two cases 1) if the modem itself
gives the +FHS:91 condition - which is rare, or 2) if data reading from
the modem ceases entirely during Phase C. In the latter case (which is
the case at hand) the error message is a bit misleading.
Thanks,
Lee.
