If you're talking about T.38 ... the only HylaFAX-compatible product 
that I know of is t38modem, and as you're finding out... it can be 
difficult to build.  I would advise you to communicate with the author, 
Vyacheslav, to determine a compatible set of OPAL, pwlib, and t38modem 
(and last I checked on this it was to pull CVS of a certain date - yeah, 
not very "user-friendly").
