[hylafax-users] No response to PPS repeated 3 times

Hello!

Well after all of the problems with iaxmodem and asterisk, I tried callweaver but couldn’t get that to run properly.

 

So now I’ve decided to fax using an ordinary PSTN line, and a modem. I just went out and bought an external serial modem (Netcomm Mega-i-modem CD2004). I was so fed up with it failing that I bit the bullet and spent $75 on this serial modem because on the Hylafax website it says that they worked “almost without exception”.

I’m starting to see that I seem to always fall in that small percentage of things that don’t work.

 

When setting it up, Hylafax said it didn’t have a prototype for it so it would just get the default modem commands.

 

I looked up the commands at: http://www.netcomm.com.au/Other/CD2004_AT.pdf but I don’t really know what they mean. I tried sending a fax on Hylafax with the defaults and got this:

The receiving fax didn’t print anything out. Any ideas?

 

I was hoping this modem would solve my epic fax journey. Should I pack it up and take it back?
