If we trust the modem... here it dials and connects with a V.21 HDLC carrier, but almost immediately loses that carrier.

And after that V.21 HDLC carrier loss (if we are to trust the modem) there is a very regularly-timed sound that occurs every 10 seconds thereafter at least four times (i.e. an odd busy signal?).


I'm guessing that there is still some problem with your line.
