Okay, so I got the software to receive one fax, but after that it didn't hang up and kept saying it was busy.

Faxgetty told me it was "receiving facsimile" even when it wasn't.

I also haven't added anything to inittab yet, but I assumed that was just when you restart the server to get everything setup automatically.  Do I need an inittab entry for regular use?

Great... the OCM homologation code had some problems and some country
settings had ring detection issues.

The OCM has a number of fax related firmware bugs that you will run into
at some point. Agere didn't put much effort into fixing them because
they moved onto the CFAX chipset.

Once you get HylaFAX running you might want to reconsider your modem
choice if this is an important deployment.
