Re: [hylafax-users] broken hlya.conf: hylafax-5.2.1-1

I installed the FC6 version of: hylafax-5.2.1-1.i386.rpm on a Centos 5
system.
I ran faxsetup, answering yes or just pressing enter for each question
except supplying my area code and no to running faxmodem.
Now my /etc/hylafax/hyla.conf is basically empty and has a few very
long font lines.
Thinking back to running faxsetup, I recall that a number of prompts
were: [] and I did not supply anything. Could that be my error?
So I go and run faxsetup again, and all it does is confirm my config,
does not let me redo the config.
Help?
Should I just copy a hyla.conf from a hylafax 4.4.2 (Centos 4 Trixbox
2.2.10) system? I notice its hyla.conf does not have any of these
font lines....
As far as the long font lines go... those are probably a result of your
Ghostscript version. It's basically taken from 'gs -h' output. Mine
look like this on one system I run:
FontMap:
%rom%lib/:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/lib:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/Resource:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/fonts:%rom%lib/:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/lib:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/Resource:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/fonts
FontPath:
%rom%lib/:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/lib:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/Resource:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/fonts:%rom%lib/:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/lib:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/Resource:/usr/local/share/ghostscript/fonts
In the 'gs -h' output I have this:
Search path:
. : %rom%lib/ : /usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/lib :
/usr/local/share/ghostscript/8.57/Resource :
/usr/local/share/ghostscript/fonts
So you can see that the "%rom%lib" thing (which is non-consequential for
HylaFAX here it seems) is a bug in Ghostscript.
With regards to the "basically empty" aspect of the file... all that I
can think of is that your RPM uninstall of the previous HylaFAX version
must have deleted the file. There is no default hyla.conf file in the
HylaFAX+ RPMs... so whatever is there gets there manually or from faxsetup.
Thanks,
Lee.
