I'm successfully sending out messages to sprint and verizon phones using sendpage. It's much faster than via email. The only problem is that when the messages show up on the sprint phones, the messages are from "8276" . On verizon phones, messages are from <blank>.
What does it normally (i.e. via e-mail) say that it's from? A name, "John Doe", or an e-mail address, "john@xxxxxxx", or a phone number "5556667777"?
I've tried using -f with "me", "me@xxxxxxxx , "From: me" , etc, etc. I've created a text file like this:
From: me@xxxxxxxx
test test
and piped it into sendpage, didn't work ( all newlines are translated to spaces ). I tried the same thing again, but with \r\n as line terminators, same result.
Does anyone know how to do this ?
If there is anyone at Sprint or Verizon with whom you could discuss this it would be most useful to know what it is that sendpage is doing wrong to not deliver a proper "from".
Thanks,
Lee.
