I've never done this myself, but I think that you can use your ISDN card 
with Asterisk (chan_misdn) using the isdn4linux drivers.  Then you could 
use iaxmodem in conjunction with Asterisk and isdn4linux to avoid using 
CAPI4HylaFAX.
