[hylafax-users] Problem with textfmt execution

Compiling hylafax-4.3.0 on Solaris 5.8 but I got a problem with textfmt.

I've installed the following packages on Solaris 5.8.

autoconf-2.60-sol8-sparc-local.gz
automake-1.10-sol8-sparc-local.gz
expat-1.95.5-sol8-sparc-local.gz
gcc-3.3.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz
gettext-0.14.1-sol8-sparc-local.gz
ghostscript-8.54-sol8-sparc-local.gz
libgcc-3.3-sol8-sparc-local.gz
libiconv-1.11-sol8-sparc-local.gz
libintl-3.4.0-sol8-sparc-local.gz
make-3.81-sol8-sparc-local.gz

And downloaded and installed the following gs fonts

ghostscript-fonts-other-6.0.tar.gz
ghostscript-fonts-std-6.0.tar.gz
ghostscript-fonts-std-8.11.tar.gz

as per ghostscript download notes.

I then compiled libtiff 3.5.7 and it completed correctly.
I then compiled hylafax-4.3.0 as per instructions and it completed
successfully.

I then tried to send a test fax over to a linux box that
is actually running the faxserver. However I got the following error.

# ./testfax.sh
Assertion failed "Str::next: invalid index", file "Str.c++" line 557.
Abort - core dumped
Error converting data; command was "/usr/local/sbin/textfmt -B
   -f Courier-Bold  -Ml=0.4in -p 11 -s default >/tmp//sndfaxxxaWXC
<hylafax-copy.txt"

If I run just /usr/local/bin/textfmt it get the first portion of the
above error.
Assertion failed "Str::next: invalid index", file "Str.c++" line 557.
Abort - core dumped

Could someone tell me where I might look next to correct this problem.
