My PSTN gateway is a Quintum that does
T.38 so my inbound success rate is 100%. I haven’t completed the outbound
setup yet.
Here is my setup
PSTN->Quintum->asterisk->IAXmodem->hylafax->FaxDispatcher->email
The problem I have is with inbound faxes
where the sender dials the number with a regular phone and when they hear the fax
sound they press the send button. I lose the called number so I can’t
route the call using FaxDispatcher. If anyone else is having this problem,
please let me know.

connectiing 2 hylafax servers
done this, but the
quality of faxes is so bad (only 20% of faxes pass true
Hyla->ast1->ast2->PSTN)
ast1<->ast2 ulaw codec ast2 PRI to pstn
I'm trying minimize voip for fax transmission....

Wouldn't the proper
routing be?
User1->Hyla1->IAXmodem->asterisk1->asterisk2->PSTN2
