Re: [hylafax-users] Multiple "MODEM No carrier"

I've changed the modem class from 1 to 2.1, and the modem works well.
What's going on? Maybe line polarity issues?

Analog modems aren't typically capable of detecting a hangup. Instead, your telco or your PBX is probably giving a "busy" signal after the hangup, and in Class 2.1 the modem is detecting the busy tone. In Class 1 we have no mechanism to detect a busy tone after the initial call connects. And, unfortunately the Agere chipset on your modem is erroniously giving a "CONNECT" message on that tone:

Oct 01 12:09:43.28: [ 8035]: <-- [9:AT+FRH=3\r]
Oct 01 12:09:43.73: [ 8035]: --> [7:CONNECT]
Oct 01 12:09:44.68: [ 8035]: --> [2:10 03]
Oct 01 12:09:44.68: [ 8035]: --> [10:NO CARRIER]

So this is something that needs to be "fixed" in the HylaFAX Class 1 driver. I did get your last message, and I will get that fix done soon.
