There are various pauses in the configuration that you may be able to minimize. Furthermore you can configure-in the modem response on most of the "Query" modem configuration options with a "!" (see 'man hylafax-config').

In order to do this you pretty much need to read through the hylafax-config man page and address everything that takes time in the reset process. See:
