[hylafax-users] Waiting for modem to come ready

I have a Mainpine Rockforce Octo+ 8-lines analog fax board
installed on a Sun V20z server with a RHEL Enterprise 4.0 u4 operating
system.
Hylafax is v 4.3.1 compiled from source.
When I run the faxstat -s command I *ALWAYS* get the message

ttyS6 Waiting for modem to come ready

Modem is configured for receiving only but it doesn't answer inbound calls.
Any suggestion to solve this problem?
