Hi George, >Yeah I understand that not everything is bug free, then again I am in >a situation where I have to work with what I am given. If it were up >to me i'd do away with faxes altogether! but there are many business >out there that still use it in their business cycle and are reluctant >to change! I fully understand the constraints that you are under. If you have a error that is repeatable then it may be possible to work around it with HylaFAX... and even if no software solution is available it's still useful to know about such errors for the next time a user reports the issue. >So far the introduction of hylafax servers is relatively small in my company, once we start getting >requests for fax servers for every department, then we'll request upper-management to provide us >with the funds to make a proper and centralized solution (which is where I'd check out your mainpipe >hardware.) What your upper management need to understand is that they are paying for this already... your time is extremely valuable, to say nothing of the cost of problem fax's to your company and customers. I understand this can be a hard sale but it's really no different than any other IT expenditure. Don't give up on fax just yet.... it can be extremely reliable and simple to administer... you just need the right combination of hardware, software, and Telco setup. We have tens of thousands of systems in use everyday... many are mission critical applications including medical and plant safety. I wish you the best of luck !
