Re: [hylafax-users] Errors Sending To Some Faxes

Alex,

Reconfigure your USR to operate in Class 1 and compare the results - you should see a significant improvement.

Subject: [hylafax-users] Errors Sending To Some Faxes

Hello All,

I recently set up a version 4.3.0 Hylafax server that acts in conjunction with a web site I run to allow people to fax their Congresspeople directly. I know that Hylafax is set up at least marginally well, since I've used it to send out a large number of press releases recently, and I've had success with some limited testing sending to both the US House and Senate.

However, I'm getting odd errors sending to some of the faxes over on the Senate side. Here's an example session:

Feb 08 14:03:56.42: [27647]: SESSION END

This doesn't appear to be a permanent error, as I later sent a fax to this particular machine. However, I've seen this sort of thing happen more than once, and I'm concerned about larger-scale failures if a large number of people start using this service.

Based on the above transcript, does anyone have any idea what's going on? The modem is an external serial USR 56K, and the base system is Ubuntu 6.06. I'd be happy to provide any other details necessary to troubleshoot this issue.
