Re: [hylafax-users] faxq faxgetty processes and the uucp user ref bug#571

Based on the feed-back I conclude this is probably not a bug. It is probably due to a problem with my own configuration. I shall investigate the issue further and if let you know if there is something worth reporting. Incidentally I am using Pardus version 2007 http://www.pardus.org.tr/eng

In particular, the faxq and faxgetty processes only run when I compile hylafax with FAXUSER=uucp. For any other user name these processes exit immediately!

This is something worth investigating.

The following line of code from hylafax-4.3.1.tar.gz caught my attention. Should "uucp" be hard coded here?

UUCPLock.c++:145

const passwd *pwd = getpwnam("uucp");

This is for UUCP locking... and I believe that this is deliberate.

Note. Is my problem related to bug http://bugs.hylafax.org/show_bug.cgi?id=571 or should I open a bug report?
