Is there any good reason why you can't just send the PostScript file
(complete with embeded fonts)  as it is, using sendfax?  PostScript is
what hylafax really wants anyway; if it's been converted to PDF then it
will only have to be converted back.

Most PDF viewing software can also read PostScript files, even gzip or
bz2 compressed.
