Hi,

First off, I'm new to the list, but I have searched the archives for questions like the one I am about to ask. So, if I missed it, I apologize.

Welcome!

I have a Mandriva based Hylafax server which is using an Equinox 8 port analog multi-modem board. The system seems to work fine, but from time-to-time, it appears that hylafax loses track of several, and finally all, of the modems. At this point, hylafax is unable to send again until I issue "faxmodem ttyQ1a1" . . . "faxmodem ttyQ1a8" as "root". In many cases, I have to restart the Hylafax server before even this will fix the issue. Can anyone point me to what I may be doing wrong?

Run faxgetty for each modem from inittab. That will help make sure HylaFAX doesn't 'lose' any modems. Or if it does, it will complain loudly to you ;-)
