As a general rule I would recommend upgrading software to the 
latest-and-greatest whenever you're having trouble with it and before 
looking for help.

I guess it would be really nice if we could say for certain that the 
error is fixed by some fix that has been done since 4.2.0 (nearly 2 
years ago), but often it's just too hard to say.  There's been a lot of 
work done since 4.2.0.
