The "owner" field refers to the login name that is used by the HylaFAX
client in connecting with hfaxd. If you're not using usernames and
passwords (hosts.hfaxd is set to authenticate based on ip address) then
"owner" will be blank.

I'm using usernames and passwords in hosts.hfaxd, here is an extract from this file:
-- localhost 127.0.0.1 ^kroerig@:1000:Rzfoda6q.o3Fg:XR36Zbkwag --
WHFC aks for a password every startup and I have configured a username. In 'faxstat -ls' I can see the username submitted by the client.
