Correct, it wasn't the problem with your receiving.  It was just another 
problem that I was pointing out.

This means that after waiting six seconds to hear a response from the 
caller there was none and the sender hung up.

What version of iaxmodem are you using?  If you're not using 0.1.5 
upgrade it and try again.  If that still doesn't work then please set 
"record" in your iaxmodem config file (/etc/iaxmodem/___) and then 
restart iaxmodem and try again.  Then iaxmodem will put "raw" recordings 
in /tmp/.  Please send those recordings to me privately.
