HylaFAX The world's most advanced open source fax server |
Hello, I have just come on board in an organization and have
inherited systems that I have no idea about, but have to enhance the
infrastructure. May I ask for information to aid me in the right direction
please. I have a HP Proliant DL380G3
server running White Box Linux (a derivative of Red Hat Enterprise Linux v3 for
those like me who did/do not know about White Box Linux). Running Hylafax (version unknown as yet but it will be a few years old). The onboard serial port has an external modem attached.
What I have to do is either add a pci card with additional serial ports and
attach external modems or obtain an all in one pci card with rj11 or 12 sockets
to directly connect analog lines. The Proliant has 1 x
PCI-X 130MHz slot and 2 x PCI-Extended 200MHz slots. For the short term I’m happy to work on the
quick option, but do not know what serial card/s to buy as far as reliability and
functionality is concerned. I have found a few Netcomm Smart modems and I’m
thinking I could use them if unless some one will advise against this. I have to upgrade from 1 line to a minimum of 4
lines. If anyone can assist with ideas by all means throw
them at me. Thanks Marko |
