Re: [hylafax-users] new community site

So, after jumping in yesterday and telling everone how unhappy I was with
Lee's actions, I had a chance to discuss his motives, etc. with him and
found the following:

1) He made some poor guesses about people's reactions
2) He wasn't trying to be a yutz: he was just trying get to a place where
he could continue to work on HylaFAX without being miserable

I've offered to help him put up a site that expresses what he wants to do
with HylaFAX, and that represents the "cutting edge" development of the
package, rather than the more stable, tested, and "mature" releases. I
intend to help him start from scratch on the look & feel of the site, and
get it up and running as soon as possible.

Ideally, I think we'd both like to see that be something that complements
the hylafax.org site: somewhere where users who need the latest features
can go to get the very latest versions, along with information and some
level of support for them. I think it would excellent if both sites
eventually find a way to cross-link for obvious reasons.

There's alot that will still have to sort itself out on this including
branching/forking of code, purposes of lists, etc. etc.: I would ask for
everyone's patience. If there's any way I can help with any remaining
problems, please don't hesitate contact me directly: while I'm not
directly involved in HylaFAX development, I have clients who cannot afford
to have this project falter, or to lose Lee's outstanding support.

Bill
