Re: [hylafax-users] [hylafax-devel] Re: new community site

Its hard enough
for noobs to find the information that they want about setting up hylafax
around their problems from ONE mailing list, let alone 2 seperate one. Lee,
what do you propose to do to solve the fragmented bug tracking and mailing
list dificulties?
Except for those people that somehow want to be involved in both mailing
lists without actually being subscribed to both mailing lists, I don't
see any difficulties. I can understand that a newbie may possibly
notice two mailing lists, but in the end they're going to send mail to
at least one of them, so in the end all is well.
As for the Sourceforge Tracker vs. HylaFAX Bugzilla. I think that
they're both as usable as the other. I find no real significant
operating differences worth debating. Again, I think having multiple
places where users can submit bug reports is a "good thing", yes, some
developers who wish to be made aware of bug reports at both sites will
perhaps need to be vigilant in monitoring both forums. But, as I've
said, I don't have a problem with it.
One really nice thing about using the Sourceforge Tracker is that we
don't have to maintain it. By contrast, take a look at HylaFAX's
Bugzilla... http://bugs.hylafax.org/bugzilla/ tells us that it's version
2.15. Guess when 2.15 was released? From what I can tell, 2002...
Thanks,
Lee.
