I really need help with this folks !


The furthest I can take is that I've found that the issue
is when routines in libfaxutil.a are being built into faxmsg and others.


The following command 

        /bin/gcc      
 -D__ANSI_CPP__ -I. -I.. -I.././regex -I.././util  -I.././util
-I/usr/local/include -g -O  -o faxmsg .././util/faxmsg.c   -L/usr/local/lib
 ../util/libfaxutil.a  -L/usr/local/lib -ltiff -lz -L../regex
-lregex ../port/libport.a -lbsd -lm 

will succeed if I  

        A. Copy the needed code from
cvtfacility.c into the faxmsg itself. 
        B. Re-run the above command
without including the libfaxutil library. 

However, this is a crap solution. Especially since I would
need to repeat it for most if not all of the files that access the routines
in cvtfacility.c . Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what the right
solution may be ?

        gnu make 3.80

Does anyone have any ideas ?  
 

Carl - I mentioned you because you actually reported the
same issue in April 2004 but I can't find a followup thread - did you resolve
this - if so how ?
