The difficulty in accomplishing this, though, is getting the fax number. There's no standardized way (even just within the Windows world) to submit routing information with a print job.


So, what has to be done is you have to encode the fax number within the text of the fax image, or you have to use a special print driver which will ask for the fax number when you perform the print. And by that point there's no need to complicate things further, and so the print driver just does without the Samba thing altogether and just communicates directly with hfaxd.

If you're on OS X you should be able to run Pyla.
