Re: [hylafax-users] MAC OS X Client - using a print driver

A built-in
hook to the print system would be killer, allowing any system to print

The difficulty in accomplishing this, though, is getting the fax
number. There's no standardized way (even just within the Windows
world) to submit routing information with a print job.
So, what has to be done is you have to encode the fax number within the
text of the fax image, or you have to use a special print driver which
will ask for the fax number when you perform the print. And by that
point there's no need to complicate things further, and so the print
driver just does without the Samba thing altogether and just
communicates directly with hfaxd.
If you're on OS X you should be able to run Pyla.
