I've added the line with faxmodem to the startscript of hylafax, to make
sure not to miss this step  ;-)  :

I've sended a job to hylafax, and used faxstat to check:

southpole: # faxstat ttyS0

Hm, seems that it isn't recoginzing the modem as ready. So, restart:

southpole: # rchylafax restart
Shutting down service HylaFAX                                               
                         done
Starting service HylaFAX                                                    
                         done
start faxmodem

Thereafter it immediately starts sending.

This is not unusual, but there seems to be a problem in detecting that the
modem comes ready. From earlier experience, the USR runs as a Class 1 modem.
Might this caus the problem?
