OK I hope this is my last question on capi4hylafax for a while, since it seems to be working well.... I've looked at the xferfaxlog and this is a line from my most recent test 10/29/04 08:51 SEND 00000056 faxCAPI 20 "" www-data@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "01618399336" " 01618399336" 266 1 0:36 0:24 "" The two interesting values are 0:36, the jobtime, and 0:24 the conntime; from xferfaxlog(5f) these are defined as: " jobtime The duration of the session; in the format HH:MM:SS. This time includes setup overhead and any time spent cleaning up after a call. conntime The time spent on the phone; in the format HH:MM:SS. This should be the time used by the PTT to calculate usage charges." Should there really be as much as 12 seconds logged for setup and cleanup? I ask because when I submit a job via our web CGI interface (hence from: www-data..) the remote fax machine starts to ring only a fraction of a second later. Further investigation suggests something's not working quite right in the call takedown... and the following is the contents of /var/spool/hylafax/log/c00000056: Oct 29 08:51:34.34: [ 7600]: Try to connect to fax number 01618399336 in Hylafax mode on controller 1. Oct 29 08:51:46.30: [ 7600]: StationID = 01618399336 Oct 29 08:51:46.30: [ 7600]: BaudRate = 14400 Oct 29 08:51:46.30: [ 7600]: Flags = HighRes, MMR_compr Oct 29 08:51:56.61: [ 7600]: Page 1 was sended. - Last Page! Oct 29 08:51:56.61: [ 7600]: Fax file completely transfered to CAPI. Oct 29 08:52:10.38: [ 7600]: Connection dropped with Reason 0x3491 (User busy). Oct 29 08:52:10.38: [ 7600]: SESSION END That 'connection dropped' line worries me - User busy? That doesn't make a lot of sense... 12 seconds might not seem a lot, but it adds 50% to the time taken to actually dial + send the fax and that's a lot of wasted capacity when multiplied by 2000 faxes per day! Cheers, Gavin. ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
