Lee,
Thanks for the patch, I am using the 4.1.8-1 RPM, how do I apply this
patch?
You'll need to rebuild the RPM from the SRPM.
You get the 4.1.8-1 SRPM, install that, copy the patch to the SOURCES
directory, edit the hylafax.spec file to add the patch, and then
'rpmbuild -ba hylafax.spec'.
If this isn't clear to you, then if you can build RPMs on your system
(e.g., if you installed everything), then I can send you an SRPM, and
then you can just rebuild that.
Also, do you think this problem is originally being caused by the
V.Everything modem or the firmware?
I don't know how to differentiate between the modem and the modem's
firmware.
And should I be looking at using different modems for these servers,
if so could you recommend any good ones.
USR modems aren't the sharpest choice for faxing, but they do function
tolerably well in Class 1, with a few minor hiccups as you've seen.
Otherwise, most anything is better than USR as long as it has Class 1
support. See http://www.hylafax.org/howto/install.php#ss2.1 for
reccomendations.
Lee.
