[hylafax-users] Receive T.30 T2 timeout

I endeavored today to change my RedHat9 server to begin receiving calls in addition to sending. First I upgraded hylafax from 4.1.8 to 4.2.0. No sweat. Then I added faxgetty to my inittab (previously was using faxmodem), ran faxaddmodem, and faxsetup. Everything looked peachy. Outgoing faxes work as before. I added a line to faxrecv to print incoming faxes, and set FaxDispatch to send a pdf version to email. Then I started testing incoming faxes.

I tested numerous times sending from a Pitney Bowes 9720 machine next door. I consistently get the
Sep 14 17:42:48.90: [22544]: --> [8:+FHNG:73]
Sep 14 17:42:48.90: [22544]: REMOTE HANGUP: T.30 T2 timeout, expected page not received (code 73)
error in the comm log (below). During the testing, I did receive a (non-test!) fax from another machine I know nothing about, and it printed just fine, and sent an email as expected (pdf formatting wasn't right, but first things first).

I searched through the site and user list archives for a solution. I found Q332 in the FAQs and thought I'd found a solution, only to find out that I'd already applied that fix. So, I'm posting it anew. (Help, oh Lee one!)

The faxmodem is a Multitech, ATI commands show:
ati0-->247
ati1-->0316A
ati2-->MT2834ZDX
ats38?-->035

Do I need to get a different fax modem if I'm going to get incoming faxes working as well as outgoing does?

Thanks in advance!
