Re: [hylafax-users] ISDN Configuration

PROBLEM 1:
Ive set-up a hylafax server.
The problems that im having is that i cannot get the (internal-pci)isdn
card working (It has a HFC-s chipset) , i dont know where to begin.

May be by searching the hylafax mail archives for "isdn capi" ...

So, how does one configure a isdn card to work with hylafax, i've tried
minicom(ing) into the device ttyI0, but failed, if tried setserial
/dev/ttyI0 irq 5 port 0x2080 , and this didnt work.

ISDN cards work together with hylafax if

a) the card can be used with AT-commands like an analog modem
--> this failed according to your tests

or

b) the manufacturer delivers CAPI drivers for linux
--> capi4hylafax is the choice then

The only ISDN devices i know running with hylafax are manufactured by AVM or EICON.

PROBLEM 2:

The second problem that I have , is that telkom has provided us with 20
different numbers on one isdn line. How will this work, can i specify a
device as a number, beacause each number that recieves a fax needs to be
routed via email to a different user.

This is usually called DID or routing via MSN. The information is passed to faxrcvd and can be used for inbound fax routing.
Again: search the hylafax mail archives. (e.g. for "faxrcvd MSN")
