Re: [hylafax-users] Fax to SMB Share

I have a RocketModem II 6 modems. I need to route these faxes to separate
shares on the network and email them as well (yes I know that seems
redundant), these shares are monitored by a sweeper program to read the tif
files for barcodes and extract the data.

I guess this would be the work flow:
1. Fax is received by Device 1, device one is set to send the tif to an smb
share on another server or an smb share on the fax server
2. Sweeper gets tif reeds barcode and processes data.

This will not work if all the tiffs from all the modem devices go to a
single share as these faxes need to be sorted based on the phone line they
come in on.

No worries. Great timing, really.

If you have a single hyla receiver, then this would be best done with a
small modification to bin/faxrcvd (/var/spool/hylafax/bin/faxrcvd) - which
either moves or copies [depending on whether or not you wish to maintain a
central repository of inbound faxes] to the various sharepoints. How many
users/devices are we talking about here?

Well, the nice thing about open source software is that if it doesn't do
anything you want, you can change it.
