Can you give your kinux distribution, hylafax version, modem type.

hylafax can be found by : rpm -q hylafax (or hylafax-server id mandrake)

did faxsetup give you error messages like cannot find font directory, cannot 
find mgetty or vgetty (egetty is not important)

also make sure that you run faxmodem ttySx or faxgetty ttySx (x being your 
modem device)

make a ps aux | grep fax to see if you have a total of 3 processes
