I went and made the changes above in config/class1 and class1.0.

Why? Do them in etc/config.<devid>

in the
logs, it looks like it didn't see the change.

Because you didn't change the modem configuration file. You changed the prototypes.


I looked for all
instances of
FTS=7 and changed those as well to 9, but those didn't change either.
The
Hylafax FAQ said that a restart is unnecessary... is this not the
case?

For sending, yes, restarting is unnecessary since the values will be re-read upon modem initialization before sending.


Below is the most recent log. In this case you'll notice that it isn't
an MPS,
but a single page (as far as I can tell), and it also errors.

Yes, it's probably the same problem, just a different manifestation of it.
