In the log posted (and in your reply), it looked like "SEND end page"
was
sent,
"SEND end page" is just a logging message. The corresponding TIFF data
is the RTC code (theoretically optional in faxing) followed by DLE+ETX.
and that perhaps the other end hung up after the first page, and
didn't wait for additional pages?
That's possible, but highly unlikely. That behavior would violate T.30
(fax) protocol. The receiver should at least send DCN (disconnect
signal). More likely is that the remote receiver is having problems
with the data or with the timing of that data and preceding signals.
If this is the case, is it a problem
with
the way the "number of pages" is sent?
The "number of pages" is never communicated. There is no "number of
pages" communication in fax protocol. The receiver is supposed to wait
for the "this is the last page" signal called EOP. Your logs indicate
that the "this is not the last page" signal, called MPS, was sent.
