Re: [hylafax-users] RocketModem PCI
As far as I'm aware the RocketModem driver included with the Linux
kernel sources is only for RocketModems (not IIs or IIIs), and I think
that those are all ISA. In other words you need to use the driver from
Comtrol.

Ok,
This is what happened so far, trying to get a rocketmodem to
work on
Red Hat Enterprise Server 3. I found out that more or less i need
rocket.o loaded. So I first tried using redhat's stock installed
kernel
but it didnt have the rocket module. So then I downloaded the
unsupported kernel modules package from redhat, and when i 'modprobe
rocket' i get "No rocketport ports found; unloading driver." with some
other info saying Hint: insmod errors can be caused by an incorrect
module parameters, inclusing invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
The modem does show up in lspci as "00:09.0 Communication
controller:
Comtrol Corporation Unknown device 000d (rev 01)" i believe it is on
IRQ
10. Can anyone help me getting this to work?
I also tried compiling comtrol's drivers but i got and error
"rocket.c:
In function 'rp_close": rocket.c:1203: invalid operands to binary =="
wtf is that all about?
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
Thanks,
Jack
