Hylafax dev. team et al, I am new to the mailing-list. Hylafax is awesome and it's documentation is great. I have been using it for some time, but recently an odd problem cropped up... I am running: HylaFAX version 4.1.3 built Wed Sep 25 07:35:43 PDT 2002 for i686-pc-linux-gnu <snip config> LogFacility: daemon CountryCode: 1 AreaCode: 503 LongDistancePrefix: 1 InternationalPrefix: 011 DialStringRules: etc/dialrules ServerTracing: 1 </snip> After some investigation (and alot of searching mailing-list archives and documentation), it seems that this is what happens (it is not necessarily repeatable): 1. Something goes awry - I think one of the daemons dies 2. Faxes are enqueued but never sent - the status sits at Running and Idle 3. After some arbitrary period of time, the faxes 'expire' and are removed from the queue, unsent When this happens, no log of the job is kept in either ./logs or ./etc/xferfaxlog (or the syslog); in retrospect, that job # appears to be skipped in xferfaxlog. It seems to me, that when a fax is dequeued due to a time-out, a record should be kept in at least one, or even better, all three of these locations. If I restart hylafax the problem goes away, and the enqueued faxes send. Why the daemon is dying (if that is what happened) is another question all-together, since it has only happened once, I am not too concerned. If it starts happening frequently, I will just put it under svc. Any ideas?
