Re: [hylafax-users] Submitting a fax to Hylafax from Windows

sambafax or salsafax is the business...      http://www.purpel3.com/sambafax/       recognizes the fax number from the document.  no need for software on everydesktop.       see also how to setup samba/cups fax backend...

Subject: [hylafax-users] Submitting a fax to Hylafax from Windows

Hi again,

I think I know how this works but it would really help if someone can give me an example.

I think it goes like this...

You open a telent connection to <server> at port 4559.

You request PASV mode which then opens an (FTP) session on the <server> at port x.

You can then pass a command to the telnet session and have the response arrive at the second session (FTP) - for getting data from the <server>. I expect a similar process for sending the job too.

Since there is not much information I am simply using a trial and error method to work this stuff out.

Please help.

Malcolm
