Stuart, See http://www.ifax.com/article/articleview/13/1/10/ for an overview HylaFAX's most popular inbound routing methods. You want to route by called number / DID. We generally recommend digital (DNIS-based) routing over a fractional T1 or ISDN-PRI to our customers, but you could also obtain a dedicated analog DID line from your telco (beware - some telcos will not initially know what you're asking for). We use Brooktrout or EICON digital fax boards when DNIS is available, and Brooktrout TR114/TruFax or Multititech MultiModemDID when a dedicated analog DID line is preferable. The choice of digital or analog depends upon anticipated inbound volume, local telco costs, preexisting infrastructure, and a whole host of other fun variables! ;-) You need CVS HylaFAX to make the MultiModemDID work until 4.1.6 is released. -Darren -- Darren Nickerson Senior Sales & Support Engineer iFax Solutions, Inc. www.ifax.com darren.nickerson@ifax.com +1.215.438.4638 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Herd" <sherd@muscletech.com> To: <hylafax-users@hylafax.org> Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 9:27 AM Subject: [hylafax-users] routing rcvd based on to # > I'm trying to figure out how to route incoming faxes based on the fax > number that the fax was sent to. > We have about 20 lines routed to the fax server, each line has a number > asc. with a user. > Receiving faxes for all lines work well but upon checking the logs there is > no statement for the number the fax was > sent to. > > I read an article on Linux Gazette where they describe this setup > (http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue79/fraile.php) but from what i can tell > the first line statement of a received fax tells the number of the modem > that answered not what was dialed by the sender. > > Can this be done? > > tia > > S. > > > ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ > To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi > On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null > *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@hylafax.org.* > > ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@hylafax.org.*
