Phil, > does anyone know how to limit the range of client TCP port > numbers required by hylafax? > > I have a win XP box with cypheus and the only way I have found to get > hylafax working is to turn my firewall off. hylafax insists > on using a wandering range of client port numbers for data transfer. Communication between Cypheus and HylaFAX uses port 4559 except for sending a TIFF file of an outbox fax. HylaFAX sends Cypheus a port number (any high port 1024-65535) and Cypheus uses this port to send the TIFF file. Therefore you need to open the firewall in order to be able to use these ports in your internal LAN.
