The last time I saw that error, the user was using Xmail as is MTA and 
Xmail contrary to its documentation does not ignore (all) unknown options. 
It barfs on the -oi (if I remember the right one!) which it doesn't 
understand nor need. I'd look at your MTA and send a test message using 
the options in notify to see if it accepts them all...
