/usr/local/share/ghostscript/6.53 : non existant
/usr/local/share/ghostscript/fonts : non existant
/var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts : exists
/usr/share/ghostscript/common : exists

This is a little more difficult, I guess. Those handling is managed by
"alternatives" (links, that decide which is the best version) in Debian:
dvzfax:~# /usr/sbin/update-alternatives --display gs
gs - status is auto.
link currently points to /usr/bin/gs-gnu
/usr/bin/gs-gnu - priority 80
slave gs.1.gz: /usr/share/man/man1/gs-gnu.1.gz
Current `best' version is /usr/bin/gs-gnu.
Looking at that (and at "find"-output), the only "gs" I have is
/usr/bin/gs-gnu ("GNU Ghostscript 6.53 (2002-02-13)") - Debian's "gs"
package.

No, I did not touch it manually
