/usr/lib/ ??? In Red Hat I use /usr/sbin/faxgetty
ttyS0...

Try something like /usr/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyS0

Read the WHFC's HowTo/FAQ carefully. There is very
well explained how to view received fax. But if you
pretend something like email notification that's a
different story.
