[hylafax-users] FW: Hylafax printer using samba
[Peter A Joslin] Hi,
i have tried setting up a samba printer for hylafax, using the instructions
shown on http://www.hylafax.org/howto/faxing.php#ss5.6
so far i have;
setup samba version 2.2a , with file shares, which work, i can view them
from my windows 200 machine.
added
faxlp:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd:\ <---- i changed this line to :sd=/var/spool/lpd:\
however didnt work either way!
:if=/var/spool/hylafax/bin/sambafax:\
:sh:sf:mx#0:
to the /etc/printcap.local, it tells me in the /etc/printcap, that i cant
manually add to the file, so use printcap.local which will be included.
added the provided script to "/var/spool/hylafax/bin/sambafax, then run
chmod +x and it dosent return any errors
then restarted lpd and samba, samba restarted without a problem, but i get
the following statment from lpd -
Stopping lpd: [ OK ]
Starting lpd: Warning - faxlp: sf (suppress form feeds) is ignored. Use
'ff_separator' if you want FF between job files
[ OK ]
i dont think this has got anything to do with my problem,
i try and connect to \\servername\faxlp but my machine cant see it. it
dosent appear as a samba share, do i need to add anything to the
/etc/samba/smb.conf file to make it available on my network ?
Thanks in advance
Pete
