Maybe it was better if I had told which modems I use. The receiving
modem is a Zyxel Elite 2864I (class 2.0) and the sending modem is an
Etech E336RVP with Rockwell chipset (it uses class 1).
I did run "faxaddmodem" on the Zyxel to let it use class 1, but after
that it does not answer the phone anymore (modem is ringing, faxgetty
does not answer). When I take a look at the configuration file, it's a
"generic class 1 modem configuration file". I think it will need
modifications before it will work with my modem. And when I look at
http://www.hylafax.org/modems.php or
http://www.hylafax.org/Modems/index.php I do not see anything about
problems with any faxclass and this modem (I use the latest firmware).
Do you really think I should try to get class 1 working (it does not
seems to be easy) ?
If no: what else can I do to get it working?
With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.
