[hylafax-users] tiffview access denied
hi all,
i am using suse 7.2, hylafax 4.1, capi4hylafax, whfc 1.0.8 and tiffview for
viewing the received faxes out of the whfc.
i read a lot of postings and the manpage of the hosts.hfaxd file but i
didn't find a solution for my problem.
i can send faxes and view the recvq of the hylafaxserver, but i am not able
view the received faxes with tiffview. i get :
access to \\192.168.111.24\recvq\fax0000*.tif denied
i start tiffview out of the whfc like that:
C:\Programme\tiffview\tiffview.exe \\192.168.111.24\recvq\%s
my hosts.hfaxd looks like this:
localhost
127.0.0.1
192.168.111.
this should give all hosts and users the right to access the server
in my config.faxCAPI file i set the RecvFileMode to 0666 so that all users
have the rights to read and write.
some people mentioned that the users fax and uucp have to have the same
gid. they have:
uucp:x:10:14:Unix-to-Unix CoPy system:/etc/uucp:/bin/bash
fax:x:10:14:Facsimile Agent:/var/spool/hylafax:/bin/bash
the directories under /var/spool/hylafax/ have the rights dr-xr-xr-x
so this should be ok either
the received files belong to uucp.uucp but this doesn't really matter i
think. or does it ?
/var/log/messages tells me:

this seems to be ok i think, because everything is "successful".
at the end i am not sure if the tiffview request is logged by hylafax
and if hylafax has something to do with it at all.
do i have to set any permissions elsewere ?
if i take the cypheus hylafax client i can view the received faxes without
problem but this is to unstable to use at the moment.
i hope i didn't miss anything
any suggestions and hints are very welcome
thanks in advance
