But I can ensure you: they works really fine! I don't know for what
other kind of purpose you intend to use your new modems, but if you will
limit the use to fax, I think that they will last for a lot. I'm not
aware of changes in fax standards...

Hi All,

I'm currently using a U-1496E for our HylaFAX Version 4.1beta2 (SuSE
v6.4)
system.

I'm planning to build a new fax server and while checking on 
www.zyxel.com, I noticed U-1496 series is not present as a available
product: there is information about U-336E and U-90E series instead.

My question, is 336E/90E a good replacement for a U-1496E? 
Does anybody have a good/bad impression about them while a fax solution?

I know that I can buy an U-1496E but I wouldn't like to buy an outdated
product.
