Trying to send the same commands to the modem from MINICOM, no errors are
returned.
It seems that Hylafax is not able to lock/unlock the modem, or to send the
correct string to dial, I don't know.
I've just tried to use whfc, but no faxes are sent in anyway.
I've followed the instructions to install it; I will work in a sendonly
environment, so faxgetty does not run;
the status of te modem (obtained from faxstat) is always " waiting for modem
to come ready".

Now I'm trying all AT commands with the modem, but, where are defined all
initialization settings used by hylafax? config? config.ttyS1? dialrules?
setup.modem?
