Re: [hylafax-users] COMREC error - addendum
Out of the box, except for a modification to the MODEM config files to always
dial a 9 for an outside line.
i.e. in the config file for the specific MODEM.
...
# NB: some models get confused by the @
#
ModemDialCmd: ATDT9,,%s@ # T for tone dialing, @ for silence
#
...
This particular installation has the following...
OS = Redhat 7.1
HylaFAX = Beta3 / modified version of sendfax / and the usual custom
scripts to make it fly
Server = Dell PowerEdge 1550 / 512 MB / 9Gig / P3-866 / Dual NICs /
1U Rack Mount
Serial Ports = Equinox ESP-8 connected via Ethernet to PowerEdge.
MODEMs = MultiTech MT2834MR6 (Part of a Rack Mount 4800 series from
MultiTech)
Serial Ports and Modems are located 100 feet from the Server.
(Can you say 100 foot crossover cable!)
My BIGGEST problem turned out to be the Dell server...It has only 64-bit /
3.3-Volt PCI slots.
No serial adapter exists that will fit into this bad boy...
Good Luck!
